Nasty Chocolate Surprises
« on: May 05, 2005, 04:03:09 pm »

I just read a news story here

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/050505/344/fi4vx.html

which is pretty nasty. So I wondered, did anyone else here ever have a nasty experience like this when buying chocolate?

Once when I was little, my dad took me to the newsagent and let me choose a 'grown up' chocolate bar (not a little bar like an Animal bar which I usually had). Feeling great (and very grown up) I picked a bar, can't remember now if it was a Topic or a Marathon bar. When I got home I ripped open the wrapper and found the bar was covered in green mould

Not chocolate but I had a packet of custard creams once and found a load of ants in the packet!

My dad found a squashed bee in some apple chutney. He got a Crosse and Blackwell hamper for that.

I found some ants to stuck to the bottom of some m&s bread buns once so I took them back and after 25 mins of constant complaining the manager gave me £50 of vouchers. Another time I had a kitkat with a sticky wrapper smelling of petrol and like a fool I sent the whole pack of kitkats back instead of keeping them as evidence and I received a cheque for 97p.

Maggots, ants and bees. I'll never eat again. Ever. (good for the diet though!!!) You can buy chocolate covered ants can't you? They are a different breed i am told.

I found ants in my Burger King drink once. When I took it back they accused me of having put the ants there myself but after a lot of complaining I got a replacement drink.

Well done with M&S lou. I would have been tempted to buy £50 worth of chocolate!

Lou, apart from the obvious attraction of the flowery pattern, is flowery toilet roll better than plain toilet roll?
