Is there anybody out there??

It's gone so quiet here lately. Has everyone given up eating chocolate?

Never!

I'm still here... surrounded by rolling tumbleweeds, but still here.

For Father's Day I got the traditional stuff... Thorntons Moments and M.n.M's... oh, and a bag of those new Cadbury mix-up thingies. In case you were wondering, the answer is no... my 4 year old daughetr has not developed expensive tastes in chocolate yet, lol.

I am trying hard to resist chocolate at the moment as I have to reduce my weight. I've lost 17 pounds so far but have a bit more to go. Have to get my blood pressure down. To be fair, I am three stone heavier than I was 20 years ago - shame on me!

Well done on the 17lbs! I'm dieting at the moment too, with mixed results. Admittedly the Father's Day pressies didn't help much.

It's hard when you get older too. I'm an old lady of 56 now and the weight takes longer to shift. However, because I have adopted a healthier lifestyle, accepting that this is not just a weight loss programme, but a life-long healthy eating commitment, I have noticed that not only is the weight coming off, but my shape is changing and I look much slimmer than my actual weight loss - most people think I've lost more than just over 1 stone. My improved diet, with much less sugar and up to 8 portions of fruit and veg a day, means I am less bloated because I am not retaining as much water. I can't see me returning to my bad old ways - but I will enjoy a bit of chocolate now and then. :)

Im still here too, poking my head in about once a year, shameful i know it should be more often but I could never forget about this site. Its comforting to see the same names of the hardcore few from 11-12 maybe more years back.
I too am watching the waistline; i'm approaching 35 with prolapsing discs in my lower back meaning i had to give up the physical part of my job at xmas; those 7 months have seen me go from 15st10 to 17st5 and in this heat im really feeling uncomfortable with that extra weight. No choccy for me then :-(

Hello Muggy, lovely to hear from you. Sorry about the back trouble. It can be so uncomfortable. Have you tried swimming? Some gentle swimming may soothe the back and help with the weight.

I've lost 26lbs now but still have at least another stone to go.

Take care all.

I had considered it, I hear its a great way of toning up. ive not been swimming since 1993. Trouble is once the weights gone on the reluctance to get your lardy bits out in a public place is all the greater  :-[
