IF you are buying box of choc, I would strongly recommend M&S Big one as its much better than everything else at the moment.

I got my daughter a lovely 70s style biscuit tin with an owl pattern on it (she's into owls just now) and I'm going to fill it with premium biscuits from the Borders range. I also got her an owl notebook from Paperchase and an owl cushion from Wilkinsons.

For my son, I got him a bottle of Southern Comfort with Cherry and I'm going to get him a spice rack and fill it with the spices and herbs I know he uses.

I have grown-up nephews so I only buy for their children (my great nephews - and one great, great nephew!!!) and I have filled small but posh carrier bags with stationery bits and bobs that children like and will add some Percy Pigs and perhaps some posh lollipops (Jelly Belly do a range of lollipops).

Now I've started, I am quite enjoying it!
Old but spicey!

Here's one you don't hear very often:

Gilbert O'Sullivan - I'm Not Dreaming Of A White Christmas

I like that song, until the children get started.
I'm not sure what it is, but there is something about songs that add childish, whiny voices that just start my teeth gnashing.

Got to agree! Here's a few to jog your memory:

"Grocer Jack, grocer Jack, is it true what mummy says - you won't come back'........!!!!!!

"I'm only a poor little sparrow....."

"Grandma, we love you, grandma we do......."

Oooh you might be spicy, but there must be an evil streak in you somewhere, to make you want to do that to me..  ;)

I have them all in my head right now, taking turns to torture me..rofl

Ok, sorry Rainbow. here's a bit of my favourite folk Christmas music to make up for that torture:

Steeleye Span - Gaudete (1972) - CHRYSALIS

It's so hard to find a modern xmas song that holds any water. Well, I adore this one by Mr. Buble. Unfortuantely he was contracted to lip-sync it here (bloody american tv show)... so please ignore that (not usuaally hsi style.) Enjoy...

Love both of those. I hadn't heard Gaudete for years, and I'm not a fan of Michael Buble usually, but this xmas song is pretty good.

What does everyone think of the John Lewis ad this year? I thought it was lovely, and even Lily Allen couldn't ruin it... though she did try. Check it our if you haven't already.

Most of mine is done too. Some of it is even wrapped! I might put the tree up early this year (this weekend) as my daughter is coming home for a day or two before starting a mammoth shift of duty that starts on 21 December and finishes on January 2nd! Son will be with us Christmas Eve and most of Christmas Day. he's going back to his digs Christmas Night. 27 December we are hrading down to London for two days.

I have three Christmas work 'dos' to get through (two at lunch time) and one or two other events to attend. Kind of looking forward to it all now. :)
