I don't know if some of the older members remember, but I wanted to know about a couple of things I ate in my youth that had been discontinued long ago. One was a chocolate bar with hexagonal pieces filled with raspberry or strawberry cream and the other was a type of boiled sweet that I used to love; I even remember the advert! Well, wonder no longer...
On my time away from this forum, I did a little bit of digging. Firstly, the chocolate bar. I remember thinking it was a Secret, but now I know that was that gunky mess covered in a chocolate bird's nest. No, what I remember was a
Cadbury's Zousse.
That's about the only photo I can find anywhere; I'm sorry it's so big. I knew immediately when I saw it. It had hexagonal pieces which were filled with this lovely strawberry mousse; the flavour was pretty powerful. They seemed to appear in my local sweet shop in the 80's and then they were gone. Anyone remember those?
The second thing was a boiled sweet and I knew it wasn't a Spangle, because it was the wrong shape. No it was
Trebor Blobs!
Again, I apologise for the size of the photo. They had lots of different flavours like Toffee Apple, Fizzy Cider, Fizzy Cola, Raspberry & Sherbet, Strawberry & Cream and Apple, Banana & Pear! So, does anyone remember those?
I was so happy when I realised that I'd uncovered some of the mysteries of my sweet eating youth. I don't think I need to find any other answers now.
