Zombies
« on: April 02, 2013, 04:06:24 pm »
Just finished watching In The Flesh, the 3-parter on BBC3... very impressed with its overall meanings and general delivery. Anyone else watch? Gotta be the first British drama I've actually enjoyed since, well... I don't remember the last one!

And sticking with zombies... anyone been watching The Walking Dead on Fox?

I hate horror movies and other horror stuff. I used to read trashy horror novels when I was about 12 but then I read Rosemary's Baby and it just freaked me out. I've pretty much kept away from the genre except for a brief flirt with it as an older teen when the first Halloween came out. I also saw The Exorcist and laughed all the way through it.
Old but spicey!

I agree, The Exorcist is one of the funniest films ever made. It's the very colourful dialogue always brings me back to it. I'm a big horror fan... always have been. Well, when I say horror I don't mean this new-age, sparkly, romantic vampire nonsense or semi-clad teen-slasher flicks... I'm referring of course to Lee, Cushing and Price. My heroes! Horror lost its edge when the blood starting running down the screen.

Totally agree. I remember seeing Tales from the Crypt as a quite young child and was too scared to move!

Funnily enough, that film had the same effect on me. I just don't get how people think it's scary. I even read the book and it's just as bad.

Not a Fulci fan, then.

I don't watch it on Fox, but I watch the series when it's on C5. Best thing on telly, bar Ripper Street.

Fulci - a Romero clone with a very questionable CV. Preferred Lenzi myself.

Lenzi? Sorry but Fulci is more of a legend than Umberto.

Can't beat a bit of Ferox though.

Yes you can. Try Zombie Flesh Eaters, The Beyond, House By The Cemetery and City Of The Living Dead for starters.

LOL at all of them for multiple reasons, I'm afraid. Give me a bit of Hammer any day.

I am a big Hammer fan myself and have been mopping up the recent Blu ray releases, but I cannot believe you're laughing at something like Zombie Flesh Eaters! It's a genre classic!

ZFE: extremely overrated. Liked the shark vs zombie fight, but that was about it. It just played like a boring version of a Romero film. Dawn Of The Dead is the best zombie film ever, in my eyes.
