The positive thread
« on: September 07, 2012, 08:37:08 am »
There has been a lot of negativity on the boards lately so I have started a thread where people can post positive things.

I'll start off with a few.

Our paralympians have now won 31 gold medals and our medal total is 108!

Strictly Come Dancing starts this weekend! (or is it next weekend??)

My daughter has just got her MSc despite working full time as a paramedic while studying for it.

It's been a beautiful sunny, warm weekend. In fact, it's been 80 degrees plus here. I've been to two car boot sales and picked up some favourite bits of vintage ceramics.

My plum tree is loaded with plums and I've been picking them and handing them out to neighbours. (One woman asked me what she should do with them. She'd never eaten a plum before and her face was full of doubt - as if I'd handed her a bag of dynamite! In the end she said 'no thanks!' and shut the door!!)

Last night I enjoyed 'Last Night of the Proms' so much. So many of my favourites! Bruch, Dvorak, Shostakovitch - wonderful!

trains are postive... i guess. whatever floats your boat.

been watching that bbc3 tourettes show the last couple of weeks... found that to be a very positive experience. amazing how people (especially youngsters) can turn their tormented existance into something good.

i got to level 17 of Manic Miner after 30 years of being stuck on level 5. go me!

umm, what else... a mummy duck and a bunch of her ducklings wandered past my house last week. that was cute.

anyone else?

I'm really freaky about trains so I didn't like that footage. It made me feel sad.

Pity the thread has gone this way. I thought it would be a nice opportunity for people to post things that made them happy or made them smile - after all, there is so much sadness and stress around at the moment.
