Krispy Creme Donuts
« on: September 01, 2012, 08:40:18 am »
I tried one of these when I was in Birmingham recently. I must have been insane. I paid £1.60 for a donut that claimed to be a 'vanilla and chocolate cream dream' (or something simiar) which in fact was a chocolate icing topped donut which contained a small amount of vanilla cream filling. The whole thing was cheap-tasting and quite vile. It was also quite small. What a rip-off! And these are a global brand??

i bought a box of them a couple of years ago. sickly and nasty. don't see what's so amazing about them or how they could possibly justify the price.

Krispy Kreme is just another vile American producer of crap! And, yet, people flock for these fake doughnuts. I shiver just imagining what these things do to your insides!

I kinda like them - I know I shouldn't (at least not the UK version which isn't as good as the American original - probably due to some scary additives that aren't allowed by the EU).
They're really sweet and sickly, and way over priced but they're not like other doughnuts. What I really wish is that Tesco didn't stop doing the 'heart attack' doughnut, that was awesome (chocolate filled, chocolate iced, straight rather than round - used to be made in their fresh bakery section).

When I was in the Isle of Wight back in June, we found this wonderful local bakery shop in Sandown that sold iced back cherry filled donuts. Wow! They were amazing. One of those at lunchtime virtually took me round to breakfast the following day. They were about 60p each.

It's a lovely bakery shop a little way up the High Street - going up the hill a bit. They do all sorts of lovely stuff.

This sounds like my type of Bakers, Just a shame many of the local bakers have disappeared partly thanks to greggs.

I still never found anyone that makes Apple Charlotte,

Just saw a video of someone in America ordering something horrific from a diners menu. It was basically a big cheeseburger with a Krispy kreme donut inside. I am at a loss for words.
