Chocolate that's not like it used to be
« on: July 06, 2012, 05:45:02 pm »
Had a 4 finger Kit Kat the other day.  Wasn't very nice at all.  Couldn't make out if it was the wafer or what. Had another next day from a different shop and that wasn't nice either :(

Are Topics getting smaller?  I'm sure they used to be about the size of a Mars but now they're like Milky Way size.

Can you still get Milky Ways?
Timelord, Futuristic babe magnet and all round boffin.

I blow hot and cold with KitKats. Sometimes they taste like the old days and other times they are so sickly. I think it's best to eat them cold.

Topics are miniscule compared to years ago. They are shorter and thinner, I think.

I had a Twix at work this week and found the biscuit hard and brittle. It was like concrete. Not nice at all. Soon i shall have to give up all chocolate on the basis that nothing is as good as it once was!

70% Dark KitKat all the way :P
The King of the "not like it used to be" category is undoubtedly the Yorkie!!
It used to have a flavour that was all its own, creamy but not sickly like galaxy; You would know it if you were blindfolded. But a couple of months ago I had a regular yorkie for the 1st time in probably 8or9 years and I was so disgusted that I had to check the date because it tasted so stale!
The only thing i can liken it to is when you buy a cheap poundshop advent calendar, the ones that have no foil protection so the poor excuse for chocolate just tastes like the bleached recycled cardboard its surrounded by. and once its melted in your mouth you may as well just be chewing a candle for all the waxy texture it has to it.

A once great bar and a sad loss  :'(

I totally agree Muggy. Yorkies used to be the king of chocolate bars. Nestle products are filth. Their ethics are filth too. Global parasites.

Yes, that's more like it! Down with Nestle! Enough of that sort of thing!!!

Did someone mention 70% Kit Kats? That's not chocolate, that's bittersweet crap!

Plus, you can take that Yorkie and shove it right up your <censored>

if the wording wasn't so childish it might've livened things up a bit. sadly it just bores me.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

LOL Those names take me back a few years; this forum can be a nutter magnet at times.

Maybe I should have shoved that Yorkie up my <Censored> now for all the satisfaction I gained by taking it orally!
