so sorry for your loss, cc. even though, as you say, you didn't really know him very well it still must be a very sad time to lose someone who is connected to you like that. i have half brothers and sisters out there somewhere i've never met... it's a weird feeling knowing that a genetic part of you is out there somewhere going about their life.
and people always criticise facebook these days for all sorts of reasons, but it's put me in touch with a whole load of old buddies etc. who i wouldn't have normally ever had anything to do with again - so i think it's a good thing in all. it's also helped me rebuild many bridges.
once again, sorry for his passing. i'm guessing he wasn't very old so that makes it even more tragic.
