one thing that is helping me in my healthy eating regime is my slow cooker. i bought it last week and i freakin' love it! just throw in whatever and forget about it for half the day, then at dinner time - bingo! - a pot full of healthy goodness.

What's helping me is the fact that I really like cooking and I make sure all the meals we have are really nice. I get most of my recipes from the good food magazine and just adjust them slightly so they are more healthier

rule 1 of dieting - be sure that you only ever eat food you are passionate about.

I've realised i havent used my microwave for ages so i threw it out.  wjp you are so right about the slow cooker as i am not much of a cook but like choc chick i am cooking from scratch now so eating loads more veg and the slow cooker is perfect for me.  It is silly but for me just eating a breakfast then a lunch makes me not want my dinner til 5.30-6.00 and then i don't eat the rest of the night, whereas before i would skip breakfast and lunch and then want dinner (tea up north ) at 4.30 then snack all night on rubbish.  I'm a bit freaked out how much energy i have and my skin is brighter and i realise i must have been so very unhealthy before.  The weight is definitely harder to shift when you are older but walking is helping enormously.

Oh that sounds nice - I will be round about 5.30pm. Ha ha

I am seven weeks in on my plan and I agree with the energy thing. I was always falling alseep on the train and now I read all the way home.

Trousers are on the stupidly big side now. I am going to pop into asda living tonight for the next size down. My current ones are flapping about all over the place.

i bought a big pumpkin last week for specific slow cooking purposes (the first time i've actually bought one for cooking, not carving.) it's a very versatile vegetableand goes nice with everything. shame i wont be able to buy another one til next october.

and keep up the good work, cc. i know how hard it is to diet/lose weight and it's nice to see you succeeding so well.

I am really hoping I do the stone but you never can tell. I have stayed on track every week so far and it's varied from stay the same up to 3lbs. So if not tomorrow - next week for sure!

I only lost a half a pound. I am a bit disappointed but I have to remember that I am not on the Biggest Loser. I am only a slightly overweight short girl!

So - 2lbs away from my first stone!

You are gonna have to do a lot of bopping if you want to lost those McGang things that you have been eating
