I only heard about it fairly recently when it caused some sort of bomb scare.  It does sound fun.

i was introduced to it a couple of days ago by a youtube 'friend'. what can i say - my handheld gps is in the post. i'll let you know how i get on. :-)

i've been looking for some kind of fun activity to do outdoors which i can involve the teenagers in for ages. i think this may just be it.

I have heard of it but haven't looked too closely at it.

This was the story I was thinking of...."Hi-tech treasure hunts, carried out using the internet, are increasingly popular. But the pastime, known as geocaching, caused a bomb scare in West Yorkshire.

It's all supposed to be a bit of fun, websites direct people to thousands of locations across Britain to uncover hidden boxes where they can leave a note or take a souvenir.

But one geocache was mistakenly reported to police as a suspect package - and was blown up in a controlled explosion, in the town of Wetherby."

well, it went pretty well! we found 3 out of 4 of the ones we hunted. quite a buzz finding them, it really is. we're going again today. it really is great outdoor fun and would recommend it to anyone.

sounds good, apart from the injury bit. how far do you have to travel to get to the caches?
