For the first time in years I agreed with the vast majority of awards. I'd have liked to see Chris Gasgoyne win Best Actor, but I think it's great Danny Miller got some recognition despite not being in one of the 'big two'. (In fact have Emmerdale ever won Best Actor or Actress before?) Jane Danson was a worthy winner for Best Dramatic Performance, but I did think Lindsey Coulson was amazing when Billy Jackson died and probably should have pipped her.
The only surprise was EastEnders getting Best Soap - the idea that it's been better than Corrie over the last year is laughable. I do wonder if the online vote has a role in that, as EE seems to attract a younger audience.
On a sad note, I thought Liz Dawn seemed in a very bad way. Barbara Knox looked a bit tearful when she was on.
