Yes, another legendary comedian and thesp gone. Also, Derek Batey of legendary Mr & Mrs fame has died as well!

A hugely sad farewell to Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela, who did so much to liberate his people from poverty.

Also, goodbye Kenny Ball. I saw him live a couple of times in our local park at free concerts - and he was a magnificent performer and a very talented musician.
Old but spicey!

Jeff hanneman from Slayer, while all around me were listening to Bros and the new kids you and the boys kept me sane in school. We lose Jeff, the hip hop community lose 1 of Kriss kross!!! Not a fair trade! Bring me the head of fiddy cent! :-P

I couldn't believe it when it was revealed that Jeff had died. Slayer had a massive influence on me when I was a kid; those Jeff / Kerry solos used to have my jaw on the floor!

RIP Jeff! \m/

RIP Ray Harryhausen. My heart is offically broken. The word 'legend' is thrown around so easily when someone dies these days, but in this case it more than stands up. Thanks for the childhood memories... which included me hiding behind my popcorn watching Medusa on the big screen. Here's hoping there are lots of skeletal warriors in heaven. :-(

I was quite shocked when I saw another great had gone. I'm sure that the majority of posters on here owe him a great debt. I remember my dad taking me and my brother to see Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and Clash of the Titans at the cinema back in the late 70's and early 80's. Plus, because my dad was a 'closet' fantasy fan, I got to see all the great sci-fi and monster films he helped make. I remember watching open mouthed at Earth vs Flying Saucers and the other Sinbad films.

A true great. RIP Ray Harryhausen...

The guy was very old and all that, but it's still so sad that he's gone and stop-motion of that kind will most likely be buried along with him. I'd much rather watch one of his creations than CGI any day.
