30 YEARS since.....
« on: December 05, 2010, 04:54:42 pm »
Its been 30 years since John lennon died 8 December 1980,

I still think he was a bit over rated as a solo singer...

have you seen the Conspiracy Theories around his deaf?

What? He was deaf? Still - Bethoven was deaf too and he was a magnificent composer. Evlyne Glennie is also profoundly deaf and she is a superb percussionist.

Old but spicey!

I've heard the 'Paul is Dead' theories and, while I'm pretty certain it's all bollocks and The Beatles actually played up to it, I can see how some people might start to believe it. I've never heard any Lennon conspiracies, but they always start when big stars die young. It's as if the fans need for there to be more to it; they can't accept that their idol would do something as mundane as dying.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

I saw John Lennon just the other day in Tesco.  He was conversing with Elvis.

He couldn't have been with Elvis. He's been living under my bed for 22 years. Are you sure it wasn't Michael Jackson?

I was at Strawberry Fields in Central Park a few years ago for the anniversary.  It was very moving.

Denis Leary: "We live in a country where John Lennon takes six bullets in the chest, Yoko Ono was standing right next to him, not ONE F***ING BULLET!"
