Eurovision

is there anything worth saying about it? (other than our entry was fairly crap and forgettable so probably deserved being last)

My favourites were Spain, Russia and Belgium. I thought the UK entry was tame to say the least. However, the show in general was very good. I do not think there were any really typical Euro moments that made me cringe. The winning entry (Germany) was OK but the runners-up were not all that in my opinion.

Here is the Spanish entry in rehersal - everything about this song grabbed me - the dancers, the orchastration - and the fact that he actually sang in the native langugae. It's very carnivalesque:

The Eurovision is crap.  I don't know why they don't just chuck it in.

No one with any sense would want to enter from the UK. I really thought it had been done away with along with Miss World. Or is Miss World still going ?

I actually quite like the winning song now - really didn't on first listen - but her ridiculous accent makes me laugh. 'Oi painted ma tornorls fur yer, oi dud it joost the uther doi'.

I thought the UK entry was awful and by any standard should have come last.  It's almost as if we tried to lose.  The backing singers were out of tune with the singer and it was just a rubbish 1980's sounding pop song.  I thought Azerbaijan was the best, but maybe that was because I wanted to f*ck the singer.  I think a British Asian band might do well representing the UK in Eurovision, but that's probably not going to happen.
