While I think it's very sad a young woman with children has lost her life to this terrible disease, I object to the canonisation of her because of it. The same people who berated her for what she said to Shilpa Shetty are now acting like there's been an apocalyse because she's dead. And when it comes down to it, what did she actually do? She got famous by staying indoors for a few weeks and talking rubbish. My Nan did that for years - I'm still waiting for her black-edged copy of OK! magazine.

Will people line the streets and throw roses at the car as it passes?

They certainly did. I felt sick at the people with their cameras taking photos. That is so distasteful and what are they really hoping to do with the photos.

Yes, it was all rather over the top wasn't it? Still, it's what she would have loved so where's the harm? It really did have echoes of Diana's funeral.

What! They let him out again?

Remember, Jade died for your sins!  Don't let her death be in vain, buy a badge (or a lollipop) and show your support!

Crap, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold it all back for long!

My family (sister, auntie, cousins etc) live quite close to the church where the funeral was held and they said that some roads were closed and there was absolute chaos for miles around the area all day. Some people had their weddings disrupted and delayed because they and their guests couldn't get to other churches along the route (and we are talking about a very long route - from Bermondsay, South London, round to the east side of London, out to Upshire, back down to Loughton and Buckhurst Hill and back out towards Epping for the burial). That seems very unfair to me.

JFHC even when she's dead shes playing the media.

TBH I got sick of hearing about it when she was still sucking air.

I aint about to post my full thoughts on this because it may upset a few people.

I feel more sorry for the brides who were disrupted on their "BIG DAY", that is something that you can not compensate for.

I see someone has made a limited edition of memorial candles with jades pic on selling at £4.99. News of the World magazine will probably have a Jade plate in their next issue. Everyone cashes in. I want to see no more about her and i want Jack to go to prison.

Oh my God, a Jade plate!! Fancy having that grinning at you from the wall or the dresser. And candles? memorial candles? With her face on?  That's what I call tasteless!

This whole thing is just media-driven, as I may have said before!  When I saw the News Of The World on Sunday, I just couldn't believe what I was seeing.  A memorial issue?  Likening the whole thing to Princess Diana's funeral!  WTF!!!  She was just a nobody who became a somebody because she was as thick as two planks on Big Brother and after, and people thought she was great.  I bet they sold LOADS of papers!

Get your Jade glove puppet, only a £1!

Well done parky : http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/138886/ : the article
Quote
Sir Michael Parkinson has launched a tirade against Jade Goody.

The veteran broadcaster told the latest issue of Radio Times that the late reality TV star represented "all that is paltry and wretched about Britain."

He said: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.

"When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.

"She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited til the day she died."

His comments come just days after Jade Goody was laid to rest following a funeral that drew comparisons with that of Princess Diana. Thousands of mourners lined the streets and threw flowers as the hearse made its way to the service in Buckhurst on Saturday.

Respect to the man for saying what allot of people were likely to be scared of saying.

It's harsh but true.  However, it's kind of sad too. She couldn't help her upbringing or even, to some extent, her ignorance. It's insulting to say she was brought up on a sink estate. There are many things that make an estate no fun place to live and one of them is people passing judgement on it. It's not right that kids have to grow up with that stigma.
