Comic Relief - BBC1
« on: March 13, 2009, 07:36:45 pm »
i'm confused. when comic relief started, it was all about comedy. presented by the likes of lenny henry and griff rhys jones etc, and featuring all sorts of stand-up routines and skits.

hmm. which brings me to what i amd watching now:

davina mccall - bland tv presenter. david tennant - straight actor. mastermind - the most serious show on tv.

what the hell is funny about this?

and now we've got annie lennox singing a sad song while pictures of famine and death play behind her. 'comic' relief? this isn't making sense! (yes, i know they usually put in those sad videos, but whats the deal with the depressing music?)

RIGHT - i shall say no more on the subject! (i am just thoroughly disgusted that i have no choice but to pay for this channel.)

It was Comic Relief crazy in college yesterday. A group of my students actually wanted to throw wet sponges at me! As I was observing trainee teachers' lessons all morning I told them to get their legs waxed instead.

I don't mind paying out for other people to do daft things for charity, but I'm not mad on mass-participation activities. I feel embarrassed.

I can't stand watching charity marathons on TV.   It's too irritating watching the 'in-people' club together but I do admire the sentiments and the objectives and I'd gladly give my money.

I bet I sound like a right old grump.
Old but spicey!

How did they raise 57 million when we are all supposedly unemployed and skint?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/breakingviewscom/4175704/Quantitative-easing-the-modern-way-to-print-money-or-a-therapy-of-last-resort.html

Basically its a game of making money out of thin air. This leads to the complecated question that no one can answer... If 'they' can simply 'magic money' in to existance... why didn't they do it when the first signs of the recession were beginning to bite, like wollies could still be in business if the 'money tap' had been turned on earlier but it wasn't...

£57,000,000 ! Nice bank roll if you can get the work...

My work raised over £700, some of it came from waxing various parts of the men's football team's anatomies, and some from raffling a red cake.

I take it you believe that charity begins at home?

I'm still thinking we should abandon comic relief for armed forces day. I'm more concerned about the state in which the poor chelsea pensioners are living.
