Did anyone see it?

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with it. I felt it had changed from gentle mocking to farce if not slapstick. Some of the scenes were just plain silly.
A shame but maybe they had to put a line under the the show and say goodbye.

My parents were quite disappointed too. Personally I think a below average episode of the Royle Family is still better than a good episode of most sitcoms, so I enjoyed it, but you're right that some of the scenes were a bit silly (some of the cooking stuff - I found myself thinking 'even Denise wouldn't be that useless').

Maybe Nana's death should have been the end of it; especially when they couldn't get Ralf Little for this one.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

My Mum thought it was hilarious.   Her laughter was verging on histerical.  I've never thought the show was funny.

You are right Smurfy. I did still laugh a lot. Jim sitting scoffing all the After Eights! Eeeeh! The greedy get! He didn't even offer anyone any! What would have nana said?
I missed sexy Shegsy as well as Joe (hello Barbara!) and Mary.

I really enjoyed it. I thought the 'Cuppa Soup starters with a twist' (instead of servng it in a cup, we're using bowls) was very funny. I also loved the 'with a knob of Stork' gags and the explanation of how to make gravy.  I did miss Nana and the lovely neighbours though.
Old but spicey!

I agree with paulham, it was too slapstick, especially with the turkey in the bath and kicking it across the floor.
I think it was good and bad to be honest. Daves dad was VERY irritating but his mam was funny coupled with barbara.

And the ending...that went a bit TOO far for my liking.
