Don't contain coconut? What is that stuff in the middle of Cherry Ripes GC? I could have sworn it was coconut.

Whoops, just checked the Australian Cadbury's website and you're absolutely right!  I don't remember the coconut in it at all and I know I didn't like it much which is strange as I love Bounty.  Maybe it was the Australian plain chocolate that put me off.

I thought it was OK but not very cherry flavoured. Also, it was very thin and chewy so the stuff in the middle could have been anything but it tasted quite a lot like coconut!

OK OK!  I've just asked my friend in Oz to send me one to refresh my memory.

She's also sending me a bag of Mini Cherry Ripes and Cherry Ripe Bites.  Apparently there are now Cherry Ripe TimTams too.  I will be an authority on the subject!

They don't I'm afraid. More like a flat, dry Raspberry Ruffle

What is it about Cadbury's abroad.  When I was in Shanghai they sold a fruits of the Forest cadbury's bar, which I've never seen over in this country.  It also tasted different as well.

My sister in Australia has just written to say there are loads of different bars we don't have over here in England  - eg there are different flavours of Freddie Frog, which we only get in one form here.

She said it tastes slightly different as well.

different countries have different markets

Do they use a different recipe or something?  Andwhy can't we get white chocolate Freddies?

They finally arrived yesterday.  The 'Chocettes' (bite-sized Cherry Ripe pieces) were nice but perhaps eating the whole bag in one go was a mistake.  I agree with Oldspice that they don't taste very much of cherry - the coconut overwhelms them.  The actual Cherry Ripe was ok too but nothing very special.  A lot flatter than I remembered but I wouldn't call it dry.
