Last week they gave out the wrong number for Ruth so people were unable to vote for her, hence she ended up in bottom 2.

I wasn't aware of that.  Pathetic.

The results are based on the public's vote, who got it right last night, so it's impossible to fix.  ITV would be closed down if they did.

Last night Rachel was a show stopper, her voice is extraordinary and her performance was that of a professional.  The next Shirley Bassey?

Everyone else is in a different league.  Laura peaked too soon if you ask me.  I think Alexandra is very good and so is the 17 year old girl whose name escapes me.  Eioghan will take some beating but I think he will have a great career and not win X Factor.  Daniel rightly went through on the sing off but how long can he hang on for?

But how would anyone know it had been fixed? It wouldn't necessarily come out.

I think Daniel should have gone. He's a better than average singer, but you need more than 'better than average' to win it. He'd never have a pop career.

I agree. Daniel would be good to get up at a wedding or birthday party but i wouldn't buy his records.

I'm half expecting him to sing 'Honey' by Bobby Goldsboro next week.

Haha very good. I've been reading about when his first wife was pregnant and he got his girlfriend pregnant at the same time . Whoops. He has two  15 yr old kids with only 4 months seperating them.

I know it's not a very gracious or generous thing to do, but on Saturday, I couldn't help thinking how much more mileage he could squeeze from his wife's sad death. Even Louis was in tears!
Old but spicey!

I'm amazed at how much information people share about their private lives on tv just for the sympathy vote.

I think you're all being unkind, although he isn't good enough as a singer to be in the competition, but obviously gets enough of the public 'who like that sort of thing' to vote for him.

Smurfboy, what are you talking about?  If ITV did try to keep a fix quiet, do you really think they would risk certain closure/astronomical fine?  After, the last debacle with phone votes being mishandled the authorities and probably the government would lynch them.

I'm not saying that it IS a fix - just that it's far from impossible. Surely the phone-in scandals of the past few years prove that?

I agree with smurfy. How would we find out if it was fixed. I believe the winner has been decided from the start. simon cowell knows who he will want to win and work with.

If I was Cowell I would try to shag all the women contestants and the best one would win.

Maybe, I wasn't watching it then.  Rachel shouldn't have been in the sing off last night, Daniel should have gone.  Rachel wasn't singing in the genre, which showcases her talent.  She will do better next week.
