Consumers now have more reasons to pick up a Penguin as United Biscuits UK (UBUK) extends its popular Penguin chocolate biscuit bar range. Penguin is a must-stock for retailers. It is currently one of the fastest growing chocolate biscuit bar brands in the UK demonstrating a phenomenal sales growth of 43% this year. More people are buying the brand and buying more frequently.
Oh really?
Penguin Wafer with Calcium

In February Penguin Wafer hit the market with a vengeance and is the biggest chocolate biscuit bar launch of 2008. Results to date have beaten all expectations with retail sales of £1.5m so far and expected to reach £2.5m by the end of the year.

Now Penguin Wafers have had a refresh with the introduction of added calcium that accounts for 25% of kids RDA. Research has shown that Mums see calcium as being an important factor in the purchase decision, they are aware that calcium is important for their children, a fact that is good for the growth of added calcium lines.

It was!?

Penguin Big Stix

I have not seen those new Penguin wafers. Did I walk right on by?
New flavours would be good.

I only found penguin wafers at one store (tesco), they were on offer - so I suspect this is the reason for the high sales so far. Just chocolate flavour I think (they've either been scanned ready to go online or are in my 'stack' awaiting scanning :) )
Big stix look interesting, will definitely look out for them.
