Cybercandy
« on: June 22, 2008, 09:04:25 am »
We were in London yesterday and after years of searching I finally found Cybercandy!!

It was very crowded and difficult to see the full range but I got some Mintastic M&Ms and some chewy cinnamon Mentoes.  Both were fantastic.

I really don't see why Mars do not release Mint M&Ms here in the UK. They're not so strange that UK folk wouldn't like them are they?

And if we can have fruit Mentoes and Mint Montoes here why not the licquorice or cinnamon ones?  Why do we get offered such a bland load of tosh?

Hi Old spice some kind young chap in the US was kind enough to send me a pack of Minty M&Ms to review for my site. I must say I enjoyed them aswell.

As for Cybercandy!? Im not a fan their prices are pretty high considering what you get if you shop around.
Saying that ive only been to the one in Brighton not London!

Hi Jim,

Yes, it is very expensive, but then it was a treat. I don't drink much or smoke so i thought a little indulgence would be in order. Only only spent a tenner in total, which is only the prive of a decent box of chocolates.

I think Mint M&Ms would be great.

If they added a little bit of chewy caramel to the crispy ones I would love to but them. Not sure how easy that we would be though.

Chuggers?  Not sure what they are. It was certainly very busy on Saturday evening.

Chuggers = charity muggers. Those people who ambush you with a clipboard trying to get you to give £10 a month.

Oh! Of course!

No, didn't see any Saturday night.  They are a pain aren't they? We get them in town.  I do give to charity but I like to decide for myself which charities to give to and when to give.

We have chuggers knock our doors here. I always ring the police and report them as they are supposed to inform the police they will be in the area and they never do so they usually get chased out of the area.

I found Cybercandy on Saturday completely by accident. I tried:

Cadbury Dessers Boysenberry Shortcake - This is an Aus/NZ bar. As I think people have said before, Australian CDM tastes very different; no veg fat, which sounds like a good thing, but I'm not sure it works. Maybe if I wasn't judging it as CDM I'd feel differently. Anyhoo, this is a slightly strange bar; I was expecting a layer of shortcake and a layer of fruit filling, but it's all fruit with tiny bits of shortcake in it, which gives it a slightly grainy texture. Nice, but not quite what I imagined.

Cadbury Snack - Six flavours in one bar. Another Aus/NZ bar. I've only eaten half of it, but so far have tried strawberry and orange centres, which taste exactly like the fruit cremes in Roses, and what I think was golden syrup; for some reason they don't tell you what the centres on the packet.

Mint Flake - Looks like a Snow Flake but with a green filling instead of white. Not tried yet.

Oh Henry! - I'm pretty sure I've waxed lyrical on these before. One of my favourite US bars, with caramel, fudge and nuts.

Non-choc wise I tried Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, which was disappointing; it just tasted like a blander version of Dr Pepper.

Hey Smurf ive tried a few of them myself:

Cadbury Snack - Pretty odd bar...as my review says I enjoyed it quite a bit though the 'coconut ice' block i found a bit puzzling

oh Henry - disappointing chocolate though the nuts were good! Alot of flavour is packed into a pretty small bar!

would appreciate your comments on my reviews if you have the time...I really want to try that Shortcake one sounds divine!

I would kill for a Mint Flake. They didn't have them when I went. We should get Mint Flakes in the UK. Cadbury should stop playing so safe with the british public and give us some real variety.
