[Aldi claimed its prices were 20-30% lower than rival supermarkets, meaning that Brits shopping there are saving 1m a day.]
Smashing! I'm popping down tomorrow to save myself a million pounds.

Just think of the savings if they did a BOGOF across the store.Wacko

Bad, unless you're not bothered about your food being edible.  I guess their fresh produce is OK, but biscuits, cakes etc are minging.

I don't like their fresh meat such as beef and chicken. Other than that I think their products are very good.

Their chilled foods such as lasagne and curries are excellent. Their biscuits are nice but the cakes and bread are a bit nasty. There is tons of chocolate as long as you like dozens of variations on milk chocolate, plain chocolate, white chocolate and stuff with hazelnuts in.

The wine and beer etc is very good but avoid the household gadgets cos they are either totally pointless or they don't work.

I bought a combo microwave/convection oven & grill last year for 59 pounds. Works really well and no trouble from it so far.

Their frozen pizzas are excellent (and cheap).

No, Oldspice. You are probably correct for a lot of their items. I have bought stuff from Lidl that I regretted. Not that it didn't work, just I didn't think it through.

A popcorn maker and waffle maker spring to mind. Their food processor was quite useful though.

I have used Aldi when I was in a hurry, but wont go again in a hurry.  It was a packet of milk chocolate digestives - and they were horrible.

The key bounty is not to buy their version of British foods as they are made in general by British companies on the cheap. Their foreign produced foods are generally much better.
