Windy woman loses claim
« on: February 23, 2008, 04:08:23 pm »

The woman, who cannot be named, claimed she was subjected to cruel jibes from staff at Leeds Metropolitan University because she suffered from severe irritable bowel syndrome.

The Leeds employment tribunal heard how one colleague said: "She opens the window because she sits there and stinks the place out - we shouldn't have to put up with it."

A power-crazy bitch who lives in a fantasy world

I think since it is something we all do to a greater or lesser extent her colleagues should grow up and leave their schoolyard humour where it belongs. In their long-passed youth.
Bodily functions are not anything to be sniggered at, that is so pathetic!

And since it is such an awful illness to have, the last thing that poor woman needs is to have them making hurtful remarks.

It's just childish and unnecessary.

And they are right they shouldn't have to put up with it...They should feel free to quit and find themselves another job anytime they feel like they cannot stay there any longer!!!

I'm sure it's difficult for the woman concerned, but it can't be nice for her colleagues either. If they've been making cruel remarks that's wrong, but you can't blame them for finding it unpleasant.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

No can't and I don't. But I disagree with the way they handled it.

It must be vastly unpleasant, but I fail to see how treating her like this improves the situation!

She probably feels bad enough without them adding to her misery.

It's just unkind.

It seems they've made a big stink over nothing, if you ask me.  She should go to the doctors and see if they can get to the bottom of it.
