New chocolateproduct of the year
« on: December 11, 2007, 02:28:06 pm »
It's that time of year again... time to decide what we think was the best new product of 2007. I've put a list in here for now, but hopefully Chocadmin can make it into a poll.

Before anyone asks, this is for mainstream products you can buy anywhere; therefore brands like Thorntons and Hotel Chocolat are not included, partly on the basis of fairness and partly to avoid a ridiculously long list.

This year's contenders are:

CDM Double Choc

Galaxy Misletoe Kisses

Galaxy Cookie Crumble

Galaxy Dark

Galaxy Raisin, Almond and Hazelnut

Galaxy Roasted and Caramelised Hazelnuts

Cadbury Magical Elves

Lindt Excellence Chilli

Lindt Creation Chilli

Chocolate Orange Golden
Nugget Crunch

Terrys Dark Mint

85% After Eights

Toblerone Fruit and Nut

Mars Planets

Bournville Deeply Dark

Bournville Deeply Dark with Coffee

Nestle Heaven with Orange

Black Magic Mellow Dark Chocolate

Black Magic Dark Chocolate with Raisins and Almonds

Black Magic Dark Chocolate with Whole Almonds

Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Galaxy Cookie Crumble from the list.
Lindt Creation caramel and mousse is widely available too. It walks all over Galaxy Misletoe Kisses in my opinion. (It is my product of the year.)

Well for me Galaxy Mistletoe Kisses are a complete disaster.

My favourite from your list Black Magic Dark with Almonds.

Wispa is not strictly new, so it isn't included in the list.

My vote goes to CDM Double Choc.

I know, but it's better than all the other rubbish on the list.

Well on that basis you could vote for a discontinued bar as the best new product.

Because the thread is about voting for the best NEW product. Wispa first appeared over 20 years ago, and therefore is not new - but you still want to vote for it because 'it's better than all the other rubbish on the list'. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but that's irrelevant. This isn't a poll to see which chocolate bar from any point in the last hundred years people like best; it's for new products released this year.

Well none of the things on the list above is my favourite chocolate bar either, but that wasn't the point was it?
I mean if you take it to silly extremes you could vote for an apple or a ferrari or anything, if you just said well I like (insert favourite thing here) better than any of that new chocolate and so I'll vote for that!

Slightly more on topic, I had no idea that there had been so many new bars introduced this year. I mean I had heard of them all, and tried quite a few of them, but seeing them all written down like that, there are far more than I realised.
