My 30th birthday trip to Canada, everything about it was great. But I have had a trip to Germany and a few trips to Malta which were pretty great also.

What's the worst holiday you've ever had?

San Antonio, Ibiza.  I went there for two weeks with my wife in 2001 and the complex was awful.  The people were really, really inconsiderate and the family above us used our veranda as an ashtray and a rubbish tip!  Every two seconds I was being offered weed or E's and it was generally pretty raucous.  That taught me NEVER to go cheapy, cheap ever again.

What's the strangest thing that's happened to you on holiday?

The first time I ever went abroad was a trip to Malta back in 1999 / 2000 with my partner (my partner is half Maltese and lived in Malta as a child before moving to England.) So we went to see some old places from his childhood, including a pretty little coffee shop called Busy Bee. We went inside to have an ice-cream and all of a sudden there was a loud noise like people screaming and my partner had disappeared. It turned out that 3 or 4 of his aunties and their families were inside and they recognised him and carried him off! The strangest thing is that these aunties and their families live in England and not in Malta. We had no idea we were there at the same time as them (and vice versa.)

What's the strangest thing you ever saw on TV?

My nephew (who hadn't been heard from for a while) appearing out of the blue on some 'How to they do that' programme with his partner and three children.  It turned out he's not actually the father but it seemed that way on the programme!

Have you ever tried growing your own vegetables?  I'm determined to get organised for next year!

Yes but not successfully ... I'm too impatient. The only thing I grow to eat is rhubarb which produces a few good crops per year.

For those who made a new year's resolution for 2009, have you managed to stick with it?

It's a difficult question and as nobody has answered for a while I'll just say Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits. It's one of my favourites but I have lots of favourite albums.

What was the last game you played, and did you win?

This cake I was given as part of a packed lunch on a youth hosteling trip. I don't know what it was supposed to be, but it was completely tasteless; it was a kind of mid-brown colour, as if maybe it was meant to be chocolate or ginger, but it didn't even have any sugar in it as far as I could tell. We fed ours to a passing dog.

When was the last time someone bought you a present just to be nice (as in not for any special occasion)?

Last Thursday my mam bought me a necklace.

Have you got any special occasions to buy for before Christmas?

Yes October is an expensive month - I have 4 birthdays and an anniversary to buy for.

Have you started stocking up for Christmas yet?

No. Never have. The ice cream man down the road smokes 60 a day and i've tried working it out and i reckon he must light one every 15 minutes to fit that many into a day.
