I'll probably get some from Christmas, and my dad usually gets loads because his birthday is three days before Xmas, so we'll watch those depending on what's on telly.

Have you bought anything new for the house for Christmas?

Yes, I bought some Chinese lanterns in Hong Kong.  It seemed a good idea at the time but now they look a bit naff and tacky.

When will you put the decorations up?

Probably the second weekend in December - and they won't come down a second before Twelfth Night.

How late is the Christmas late night shopping in your area?

Metrocentre is open until 10pm most nights and Debenhams have been open until midnight while the sale has been on.

M&S gave me a free glass of baileys as i entered the shop today. What was the last free thing you got?

A spot of port at M & S on Saturday

Do you know anyone with a birthday between now and Christmas?

Yes - my sister and my best friend.  Thanks for the reminder Bounty!

Are you having traditional Christmas Dinner this year (apart from the veggies on the board of course).  We're going to have duck for a change.

We're having duck too.  Will have mashed potato, with orange zest grated into it at the last minute and some butter.  Also carrots, boiled with fresh grated ginger and mashed together when soft, with a sprinkle of black pepper.  Otherwise parsnips and roast potatoes.

What's your favourite herb?

Rosemary. I love the flavour, and it goes so well with so many different foods.

Thai, definitely.

Do you buy Christmas Crackers or do you think they're a total waste of money?

Waste of money.  My friend is a munitions expert and we have little phials of nitro-glycerine.  Make thes the Christmas pudding sizzle.

Three times to date.  One turned into a girlfriend, another is now a good friend and the other is a blonde bombshell.

Only to France, and that was quite long enough. It's planes all the way for me.

Who, if anyone, has annoyed you today?

The woman at the Lancome make up counter today who took 35 minutes to pick a eye shadow. I went away twice, came back and the assistant kept whispering sorry to me for having to wait.

When did you last buy something from MFI and put it together yourself?

I have never bought anything from MFI.

Have you ever been to Wales?  Isn't it.
