Mmmm technical one that.  In a public place yes, but not among the public.

Supposing Denmark invaded the Shetlands after Scottish independence would it be right for them (the Scots) to expect England to chip in with its military might?

M is for Mary I,
O is for William of Orange,
N is for the House of Normandy,
A is for Queen Anne,
R is for War of the Roses,
C is for Charles I - the man who nearly destroyed the monarchy,
H is for Henrys I - VIII,
Y is for HenryVI - the youngest monarch ever to succeed to the English throne.

So yes, it is.

Is it possible I've confused an anachronism with an acronym? Or an acrostic?

Yes it is possible. Was that really your question.

Have you ever been talking about someone and they have been right behind you listening?

Yes - I was once saying to my friend how horrible this house looked and wondering why on earth the owners had chosen that colour scheme. The couple walking behind us then turned into the driveway.

When did you last put your foot in it?

When I was taking about a bloke being a puff for carrying an umbrella in a light shower when my gay friend at work was standing behind me.  We laughed about it later but it was embarrassing at the time.

Do you toast moudly bread or chuck it out for the birds?

Yes, but it was vile so I don't intend repeating the experiment.

Varied.  Most of the day was 6-7, but in the afternoon went running with four fit girls, so 9 overall.
