I think it was in a gold foil wrapper.

Great fun trying to stop the caramel from oozing out.

its was discontinued after the eighties defo because I had them growing up!!  So at least mid ninties.  They were amazing!  I don't like a cadbury's caramel, but the golden cup was awesome.

No Golden Cups were phased out in the 2000s. I too miss them  (and yes I know Nestle made them).
