Savoury chocolate products

"Diva Chocolates has unveiled an unusual new line of savoury chocolate products.

The Oregon-based independent firm has launched its line of chocolate beef jerky to prove that "chocolate and meat belong together".

Available in two ounce bags of candied beef strips, Diva Chocolates claims that the innovative product is popular with customers, following its successful line of chocolate grilling rubs for beef, pork, chicken and fish.

To make the jerky, USDA beef jerky is marinated with a seasoning blend containing chocolate to create two flavours of chocolate beef jerky.

Diva Chocolates Kickin' Cocoa Bean Beef Jerky is a little bit spicy, while Mocha Java Beef Jerky is perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

Julie Berlin, Diva Chocolates co-founder, said: "Unusual, we know. But that's what we aim for. Our goal is to bring chocolate out of realm of dessert, combine it with interesting ingredients and serve it up for dinner  or in the case of our jerky  a healthysnack!""

Chocolate Utopia do a chocolate with chilli, which is surprisingly nice, but this lot sounds awful.

I tried a thick chocolate liqueur in Italy with chilli in, it was nice
