There's nothing worse. I do sympathise. I find a warm drink and some asprin helps.

It depends what the cause is, but the best remedy without doubt is to go to the dentist ASAP!!!

You can get DIY dentist kits that can fill cracks in your teeth, they are available at the chemist.
 

Maybe your best mate can fill your crack for you?
