Something different, just for fun!
« on: May 22, 2007, 03:27:10 pm »
Ok I know this is a chocolate forum ..... but as me coming across this forum has put me in a nostalgic mood, if it's ok with everyone else can we earmark this thread for drinks that have been and went??

as in ....

TOP GEAR pop (lager and lime, and lager shandy)

Little glass bottle ... green pop called "space special" and I have never come across another flavour like it!

the 2 american imports that outstayed their welcome it would seem - Tab clear and Mountain Dew (shame cos I really liked the former)

anymore for anymore???

Wasn't the Top Gear you mentioned actually called Top Deck? I used to love the larger/lime ones.

My nan always used to get Alpine pop off the milkman. That was in the days when orangeade was bright orange and had never seen fruit in its life!

Has anyone ever tried Barr pop? It seems to appear in newsagents and cheap shops, but never the supermarkets.

Barr was really popular in working mens clubs when I was a kid (which is quite some time ago now) but you are right...it's seems to have been demoted to cheap supermarkets such as Farmfoods.  They make a nice Dandelion and Burdock if memory serves...
