over the last few days it's been extremely hard to get into this site. tuesday and wednesday were the worst... today's not so bad. it's been timing out all over the place.

surely i'm not the only one getting this?

well, i'm not 'timing out' any more, but each page is taking like 30 seconds to generate! grr!

but oddly enough it's only happening with AOL... explorer is fine.

it's now just gone 16:00 and the pages are taking about 40 seconds to come up. yesterday, i had to wait till midnight for it to sort itself out.

strange. i guess its the database getting a bit overloaded.
Wonder why it never happened on the old server (perhaps cause there were fewer sites running on it)?
I'll
see how hard it is to upgrade the database that the forum is using,
it'll probably mean a bit of downtime next week when I sort it.

nothing worse than an intermittent problem in an IT system.
Unlikely I'll be able to find out if it's something in the website itself or an external factor.
