Doctors/Dentists.

I took a day off today to visit the doctors. (I have a small lump on the base of my gum)

I went in and he looked at it and said, I don't think it's anything to worry about, but I'll give you some anti-biotics.

Make an appointment to see your dentist, he'll have an x-ray machine of his own, so it'll be quicker than going to the hospital.

Now I have to have another day off on Wednesday for my 5 minute (it was all I could get and believe me I was grateful for that) dentist appointment.

Has this ever happened to any of you?  I've heard of being referred to another doctor, but not to a dentist. I suppose it makes perfect sense if you think about it, but it's a new one on me.

i try to avoid doctors and dentists at all costs. even if it means performing surgery myself and glueing fillings back in with super-glue. wjp6662007-03-19 19:44:54

I hate dentists too, I think most people do.

But I have such a sweet tooth I think I'll be seeing a LOT of mine later on!

 

You know you can buy temporary fillings from the chemist? A kind of be your own dentist kit.  

Maybe a wow at parties when you've had one too many, what do you think?

I've heard of being referred to another doctor, but not to a dentist. I suppose it makes perfect sense if you think about it, but it's a new one on me.

I'd go straight to the dentist with any mouth related issues.

I don't have a fear of the dentist as long as if there is work to be done they do it there and then and don't make me an appointment for the following week so I can work myself into a tizzy.

Loulou how about if you went say, erm, oh I don't know, today for instance and he told you that he had tapped one of your teeth and it had cracked so now you needed a crown fitting. It would take an hour to do and the soonest 1 hour appointment was May 24th?

You wouldn't fancy that then?

May 24th doesn't sound too bad.  My dentist cancelled my checkup in February and the next appointment he could offer me was in July.  I hope it would have been quicker if I'd actually needed any work done though.

That is a very long time to wait. He must be really busy goldencup.

My dentist is very good and I could have probably seen him sooner if I hadn't needed such a long appointment.

But I do worry about things like this. Ah well. Probably don't have to worry about it just yet?

Funnily enough the dentist was once filling my tooth and the drill slipped and  cracked the tooth next to it. I had to have a crown but didn't mind going back for it.

Oooo I hope you didn't have to pay for it? That wouldn't have been very fair would it. I mean if he cracked it by accident he should pay right?
