Mothers' Day
« on: March 17, 2007, 11:19:18 pm »
After last year's fiasco when my sons took me at my word and didn't get me anything at all (didn't they realise I didn't mean it?AngryLOL) I await tomorrow morning with bated breath.....
Has anyone bought or received any original Mothers' Day gifts?

My kids took me out to lunch yesterday (Saturday - Ruth home from uni - Doug working Sunday thus Saturday lunch) and this morning Doug gave ma a darling Buds of May CD box set and a box of Rose and Violet Creams. I am well happy! Tongue

my mother whined at me today for her card not getting to her on time. she lives in the canary islands for christs sake, where the postal service is almost non-existant, and she blames me!? i posted it weeks ago!

i emailed her a card last year to be sure it arrived on time but got it in the neck anyway for it being too impersonal. i just can't win here.

Well at least you remembered wjp666, and in plenty of time too. That has to be the main thing?Smile

I wish I'd emailed my mum a card this year, but I went to her house at tea time when I knew she'd be in, with a big bunch of daffodils because someone here mentioned getting mum's flowers for mother's day. First of all she was happy with the flowers, until she realised I'd picked them from her garden! Well I'm on a tight budget and she has loads of them. I didn't think she'd mind. Big%20smile

Well, OK I didn't think she'd notice. LOL

Then she wasn't happy because I'd turned up at tea time, she said I only ever went to see her when I was hungry. Shocked

I told her that wasn't true, sometimes I'm cold or broke or I have washing. Big%20smile

My mum got a roast chicken dinner and a new handbag from me. She really liked the bag and swapped over all her stuff from her old bag straight away!
