It's called a bloom - it happens to chocolate after a while, especially if refridgerated. It's perfectly safe to eat, but I wouldn't want to! I think you should definitely complain WJP; you could be in line for some freebies Big%20smile

LOL  They had an absolutely massive one in Tesco - must have been over a metre tall.

I was choosing Easter eggs in Tesco last Saturday, and there was a family (mum, dad, two teenage girls and a toddler in the trolley) in the aisle opening the eggs and eating them. It was the dad who started it, he actually said to the rest of them 'you have to try one before you buy one to see if it's any good. If anybody says anything blame it on Jack' (I assume Jack was the toddler sitting in the trolley) as he was opening the eggs and passing them out to the family. There was a shop assistant nearby and she totally ignored them.

Chocolate can get a cloudy coating / white specs on it when exposed to heat or light (ie. when not kept in a 'cool dry place', as packaging instructs). Perhaps at some stage in transportation / storage from Cadbury to your retailer your egg got really warm wjp666? Cadbury isn't necessarily responsible. Still, I hope you get good compensation for your disappointment! Smile
