Did anyone have a worse night than me?
« on: February 25, 2007, 12:47:25 pm »

Last night I managed to lose my keys. With only 7 on me I had no chance of getting to my parents' house to get the spare key. The only solution was to climb up and over my balcony. This involved taking the table from outside a nearby cafe, plus two stools, and balancing them all on top of each other. I nearly crippled myself in the process but I got in!

By the way, this is even more difficult if you're wearing skinny jeans and have had five pints.

That sounds like a scene from 'Men behaving badly'.  That's cheered me up.  You are to be applauded on your resourcefulness.

I was quite proud of myself actually. Now I just have to hope someone handed my keys in at the club so that I don't have to get new ones.

Well done

It doesn't bode well for security though - if you can get in what's to say that burglars can't?

You should try it in a tight skirt after ten Pernod and blacks!

Not really - it was after 3am, there was no one around.

It's my own stupidity for not locking the balcony doors - although obviously it was a good job I hadn't on this occasion!

You were very brave smurfy.I would have either cried or rang my mam (reversing the charges) and told her i was on my way and meet me at the door with taxi money. Wait, how did  i think of that idea. could it be I did that most weekends in my 20's.

I am glad you made it safely indoors Smurfboy and were not hurt in the process. I am also happy that you will get your keys back, it is good news that they've been found.

I can honestly say I have never had a night like that (thank goodness) and I can also honestly say I am very sad I was not behind a bush with a video camera taping the efforts you made to regain access to your home. I think that would have been worth seeing, and then re-watching quite a few times. It must have been quite some balancing act.
