well, it's that shallow waste of time called Oscar Night this sunday (sky movies 1 from 12:30am, technically monday morning.)

anyone else watching, or is it just me?

It makes Eurovision Song Contest look like The Royal Institution.

I never watch the Oscars but I am pleased to see decent pictures like Vera Blake being honoured.

Old but spicey!

It wasn't as good as Vera Drake though.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Why is there an apostrophe in the title of this thread?

Why isn't there an apostrophe in the word 'won't' in your reply in the Olympics thread to my World Cup post?

yes, indeed! i noticed it the moment i posted it. but seeing as it's originally based on some guys name i figured it probably isn't completely incorrect.

I never watch the oscars but do like the magazines that show who was wearing what dress.

I used to watch the oscars until they moved to Sky Movies (I'm not paying out the extra money every month yet - mebbe after I've got Sky HD).

Anyone know who's presenting this year?, please not whoopi goldberg or steve martin (she was never any good at hosting and he seems to get less funny every year - and has bizarre botox these days).

I always loved the film montages they did with Billy Crystal.

It might be that E! will show the red carpet stuff (like they do for the emmy's) - have to check the radio times

I am afraid I shall miss the Ocars again this year, like I do every year.

It is a shame but by shear co-incidence I schedule open brain surgery and an early night for that particular evening, and I simply wouldn't want to miss that, even for the fancy frocks!

If I had known Ellen Degeneres was hosting I would have made an effort to record it, I think she is so good and funny!
