Droste Chocolate Letters
« on: February 19, 2007, 02:53:34 pm »

Droste is one of my favourite chocolates, it's a Dutch brand but it doesn't get mentioned a ot here.

At Christmas I always buy Droste chocolate letters for my close family, usually the first letter of their name. It's quite a tradition in the Netherlands. There is a brief explanation at the Droste site here:

You can also see all the different Droste products at the menu there.

I always think Droste chocs look lovely, but they're so expensive.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

I saw them the other day in a new shop we have here called The Range.  They didn't seem that expensive there.

The only place I ever see them is Rackhams (House of Fraser), so they're probably overpriced there.

The pastilles are fairly common but you have to look in the right places! I find the dark chocolate ones (in the red box) a little too bitter but I like all the others. They do some which are half milk and half plain which are good.
