Tinned soup
« on: February 19, 2007, 01:10:30 pm »

Don't normally buy tinned soup, but saw some on special at Tesco on Saturday and what with this cold damp weather I thought I'd give it a go. Just tried it now and I can definitely recommend it. It's called Tesco sweetcorn and chicken chowder; it's a new one. Would definitely buy again

Sounds nice.  I like Baxter's tinned veggie soups, especially the carrot and coriander and the spicy parsnip.

Mmm, Spicy Parsnip  Baxters soups are two for £1 in Somerfield at the mo.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

I like the spicy parsnip one too. It's gorgeous with bread dipped in.

I used to love Heinz tomato soup but it's not the same anymore.

There is a tasty Baxters healthy choice one with rice, tomatoes and vegetables, that one's nice. I have seen it in Somerfield but neither of my local Tescos sell it.

Yes I've had that one too - delicious.  In fact I think I like all Baxters Healthy Choice and Veggie soups.  They're filling as well.

I didn't find the carrot and coriander filling but now I bring a wholemeal roll to eat with my soup and that's much better.

I posted that earlier but my post disappears so apologies if this is a double post and the original comes back!

Heinz tomato soup takes some beating.  It's lovely with great big chunks of white bread!

I can only eat a little Heinz tomato soup because I find the flavour so strong.

Anyone else like toast with their soup?

i make homemade sweetcorn and chicken chowder for my hubby to take in a flask when he is working wierd hours and is not home at any sensible mealtimes he loves it, also do a tomato and mini meatball one that is lovely as well,at least that way i can add fresh finely chopped fresh veg to them and he gets a decent meal and he gets his 5 a day  lol
