*laughs* The removed HVO has actually been underway for the last couple of years - the toughest one was the Vienesse truffle, as it's swiss butter center - but we finally did it!
As for the new "Revelations", I can say personally that they are VERY good - hold on, I'll find my recipe cards (and supplement it with my opinions). If you hadn't guessed, yes, I do work at Thorntons
Gotcha - right, looking at the image above ^ I'll tell you what there is in order from the left:
Valencia Orange (one of my faves)
Rich orange centre layered between milk and dark chocolate, hand finished with a candied orane peel from the orange groves of Valencia. (tasty)
Italian Amaretto (I'm not a fan of amaretto normally- but this was GOOD!)
Rich and smooth praline (oh yeah!) layered between milk and white chocolate (normally I wouldn't approve, but the white gives it a smooth edge), sprinkled with crushed Italian amaretti biscuits.
Turkish Hazelnut (crunchy nut on the top, spot on!)
Indulgent praline centre (darn straight, quite thick, and you can't eat it fast, but nice) layered (see a theme here?) between milk and dark chocolate, hand finished with a golden roasted hazelnut picked in Northern Turkey. (if you don't like dark choc, you'll be surprised, it's not strong, but it creates a defined edge to the flavours)
English Toffee (oh yum oh yum - the traditional recipe has been here nearly half a century!)
Rich center with a hint of caramelised milk (yes, you can taste it clearly, but it's not sickly as I expected - it's a good light note into the creamy base), layered between dark and white chocolate, sprinkled with pieces of our famous Special Toffee.
Arabica Coffee (sorry, yes, I know, coffee isn't great. Personally, I hate coffee, but if you pick the bean off the top, it's actually ok.)
Divine coffee centre (to a secret recipe locked in a safe at Thornton Park!) layered between milk and white chocolate, hand finished with a whole roasted coffee bean from Columbi.
African Cocoa. (My no1 favourite - THIS is how chocolate should ALWAYS be!)
Rich chocolate centre, layered between milk and dark chocolate, fininshed with caramelised cocoa nibs from Ghana.
(boy oh boy, this is good - the flavours compliment perfectly without being overpowering, the textures are cleanly defined, and the nibs make a nice crunchy mouth-feel to really finish it off!)
They might not look much, but you will automatically make them last, savour each one.
They're damn nice.
Any questions?
