Sleepy Taking afternoon naps could dramatically cut your risk of dying from heart disease says researchers.  A regular siesta reduces the chances of heart related death by one third among all adults.

A shame it doesn't say why. I only ever have a siesta when I go to bed late and get up early.

I'm very much in favour of this idea.  I wonder if my boss would mind?

If I had an afternoon nap I'd be at work until really late ... that would be horrible.

I get that too, it's a horrible feeling. Plus if you sleep in the day it means you're not tired when it's bedtime.

Not tired at bedtime?  This is an unknown concept to me!  I wonder how many hours sleep most of us get/need?  I usually go to bed around 1 am and get up at 7 am so it's around six hours' sleep for me but I could definitely do with more.  I often have the intention of getting an early night then I start reading, surfing the net, or chatting to people (you know who you are! ) and the time just disappears.

I usually get between six and seven hours. I know I need more really - I would regularly sleep ten hours or more a night when I was out of work - but how are you supposed to get anything done if you go to bed too early?
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

I find I don't have time to sleep anymore than 7 hours.

Yes, that's exactly the problem.  We need more hours in the day!

I get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep. Usually I go to bed around 10:30pm and I am awake by 5:50am.

I agree with whoever said I wish we had more hours in the day - but I still find plenty of time to do all the necessary things in the evenings and weekends. I would just like more time to do something unneccessary (if you know what I mean) for example a hobby.
