Noise nuisance
« on: February 10, 2007, 02:33:23 pm »

Has anyone else suffered from noise nuisance? The people living above me have been playing loud music on and off for the last few days. I've written to my housing office to sort it out. Some people are so bloody inconsiderate to others.

I have a problem at the moment with the neighbour next door constantly banging. He moved in about 3 months ago and whatever he is doing is taking a lot of time. He will bang and drill from 8am to 9am then it is quiet until he starts again at 3pm and goes on until 6pm. I had 2 walls knocked down, a loft conversion, new bathroom and kitchen and didn't have this much banging. I am thinking he is just crap at DIY and should pay someone to get in and on with it properly.

The people above me do that a lot too lou. There's always some sort of banging going on. They also constantly move furniture around (!) but I can't figure out why. They play music from 12am to 3am too, usually not too loud but I can still hear it.

It shocks me that some families have so many children. When I've been applying for a new flat In Newcastle I've noticed there's some houses suitable for parents with 6 children. Usually in chavvy areas.

I got some new glasses from specsavers so i blame this old laptop. Anyone seen any pink laptops about? I seen a lovely Sony baby pink one but far too pricey.

It looks orange to me too Lou.

I had a problem with my new neighbours at Christmas and the New Year but it's been quiet since then.

The people who lived there previously gave us four years of hell. It was mostly caused by family visiting them and causing trouble. There were  fights in the house, fights in the street, fights in the garden. They threw bricks and each other, ran at each other with large fence  posts and once the woman stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife. Another time there was an arson attack on their home and ours was filled with smoke. It was really frightening. They had four small children who spat at people in the street, threw stones at people visiting my home, pissed in my garden crapped in gardens and in the street and sore like navvies.

Finally, the family were served with ASBOs and the police banned her family from visiting her by obtaining a High Court Injunction.

They moved a few streets away but they still own the house and they rent it out.

Old but spicey!

OK here she comes again with her............

"I live in the country and it's lovely here"

Everyone duck and cover until she's finished OK?

Here the noisy neighbours are the lambs in the field next door. (Which actually make quite a row when they all get going).

I've been lucky enough never to have noisy neighbours, even when I lived in towns or small villages it was relatively peaceful.

I can't even imagine what it must be like to have neighbours like that Oldspice. There should be something someone can do about them, but I don't suppose there is. I think it's awful that there are people in the world who really don't care if they make other people's lives a misery.

Makes me just want to   them. But then does that make me as bad as they are if I do that?

A friend of mine successfully got her neighbour taken to court over noise pollution. She got fined £600 and her stereo was impounded. It took a long time though - my friend had to phone environmental health each and every time it happened. She also kept a diary of incidents.
