So everyone's rushing down to the beaches to loot items varying from BMW motorbikes to nappies?  Disapproval all round from the press and TV but would most of us do it if we could?  I've been keeping a lookout (for safely reasons obviously) but nothing has come this far along the coast yet....

Cherry, what about you?

I think something getting washed up on the beach where you were walking and picking it up is different to visiting that specific place and deliberately taking stuff.

Some of the stolen stuff is already appearing on auction sites. It doesn't surprise me, but I do think it's sad. Particularly since not all the stuff was goods, some of it was possessions of people who were moving abroad and the looters still thought it was a free for all.

I am in two minds about this.

Is it stealing or salvage? I am honestly not sure.

I would find it too much to take personal things like jewellery and such but furniture and that motorbike......... Oooooo the motorbike!

How many times did you complain?

Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

I am.

I would love another bike, but it's out of the question at the moment. Ah well.

Obviously you too Goldencup?

I could only have dreamed of a BMW though, even before I had a family!

Yes, me too.  I had many bikes but the biggest I managed was a Honda 400/4 as I'm not very tall and couldn't touch the ground on anything bigger.  I did once ride a Police BMW on private ground but had to be 'caught' when I stopped!

I have seen lots of bikers who can't touch the floor ... particularly at traffic lights when they crawl really slowly in order not to have to stop. Once I saw a biker topple over sideways because he couldn't touch the floor at traffic lights and the bike was so big he needed 2 peoples' help to lift it upright

That's ridiculous and should be illegal - how can you have proper control like that?  Apart from being very dangerous, it would be so embarrassing!

Ooooh my first boyfriend rode a Honda 400/4 (she was cherry red and I named her Genevieve, he said I was daft for naming her but I was 14 and I didn't care!). They have remained my favourite bike and I would love one. I have promised myself that as soon as I get the little one to school I will save up for one.
