Well, it's better than Sunderland and Middlesborough that's for sure.

Sunderland is a mass of pawn shops, mobile phone shops and 99p stores. Can't buy anything there. Newcastle has Eldon Square with much better shops and I like the old buildings. I know what 623 means about the bus station. It is dark and dirty and scarey.loulou39108.6061226852

Sounds like the bus station in Plymouth. A tramp got murdered there not that long ago

Every city has their bad places.

I read in the paper that someone applied for a visa to spend a week in Gateshead, but was refused because no one believed that anyone would want to spend a week in Gateshead

Gateshead is a bit of a rough area but the people are the friendliest you could meet. They have nothing but would gladly give you their last.

My friend went to a common cafe there with his dad once and his dad said: "You get people from all walks of life in here". The coffee cost 20p and was in a cup that hadn't been washed.

"Scuse me mate, can ye lend us a tab?"

That's all you ever get in Gateshead.

Don;t worry the OLd bus station is getting replaced round the conner into a Outside lighter, brighter station next to Haymarkert bus stance,

so John lewis Can explaind in the old pit of bus stance,

eldon Shopping centre should be finshed by the end of the year.

there one THing I did notice I never saw ANY CHav or NEDS!

it was all students, well dress people!

The police are cracking down on the chavs I believe, last time I was in Newcastle there were loads of police around. Also the chavs probably can't afford the metro/bus fares to get to the city centre.
