Very quiet on here today - is everyone hungover?

A very Happy New Year to you all anyway!

We are not hung over but very tired. We had a miserable start to the New Year. Our new next-door-neighbours started playing loud music just after midnight and it went on until 9am! We didn't sleep all night. I can't even call what they played music - it was that loud thumping and wailing. When we complained they pretended they could not understand English.

This the second time they have done this. On Christmas Eve they played music until the early hours and just as we got to sleep about 6.30am they started hammering (for some reason).

Bastards!

Old but spicey!

It must be awful to have such inconsiderate neighbours.

Lucky for me I just have sheep and they don't like loud music or hammering.

I hope you have a better night tonight.

I sympathise as I suffer the same problem. The people living above me are constantly playing loud music and I had to complain to environmental health and my local housing office. Last night they were blaring loud music from 11.30pm. I got to sleep using ear plugs in the end. I think they're Jamaican - they always play music with a 'thumping' beat or some stupid Jamaican beat...I daren't go to their flat and complain because I don't think it's safe to do so where I live. They also constantly move furniture around at all hours of the day, never seem to leave the house, and often do the 'hammering' thing you mentioned. It is truly bizarre and I can't wait to move house.

The only thing you can do is call an 'out of hours noise nuisance' number, and they'll come to your house and 'witness' the noise nuisance. If it's after 8pm they can get police help to go round to the people causing the nuisance.
