I heard something about this on the radio - why is today supposed to be so depressing?

Because the weather is bad and you get all your credit card bills in....

But not for me...it's payday!

My payday is tomorrow, and we're having our Christmas party (delayed, not early!) on Friday, so I am feeling quite cheerful!

Plus I've just eaten a Star Bar

It was such a busy day. I didn't even stop for lunch. Four classes back-to-back, then a team meeting, then two more classes, then admin, then home, then cooked meal, then did washing up, now chilling out but in the minute I have to prepare two lessons plans and a scheme of work then design some teaching and learning activities.

No wonder it's the most depressing day of the year!!

I really enjoyed monday. It was snowing when i got up and snowed some more this afternoon when i went shopping. Watched Meet the Fockers and then went out for Chinese meal and drank some jack daniels. Got tickets to go see Anastacia at newcastle arena so all in all i am happy .

Oldspice, why don't you take your children on a day trip to see Ely cathedral or something, I bet they'd like that.

Just a suggestion.

My children? Do you mean my own kids? They've already been - but they're way past the age for family outings anyway. However, we are all going to the Peterborough v Nottingham Forest game on Saturday.

If you mean my students - well, the groups I had yesterday were all disaffected 16-19 year olds and not really into cathedrals. However, Ely really is a beautiful place and not too far away across the Fens.

I meant your students.  Disaffected?  Then again I've been to Peterborough.  Their tourist promotion reads 'Far enough from London to be awkward and too far from the M1 to be convenient'.

I went through Ely for the first time a couple of months ago, on my way to Kings Lynn.  It looked a really interesting place and I made a mental note to visit it properly sometime.  Kings Lynn was nice too.  On the other hand Peterborough......not so good.
