Good quality chocolate
« on: September 28, 2004, 08:57:47 pm »
I was given a big bar of chocolate today that my mum didn't want as
she's on a diet...it was such an excellent quality chocolate bar and
really did put the likes of Cadbury, Nestle and Mars to shame! It's
made with milk from the Alps and doesnt contain ANY vegetable fat. Its
a while since I had such good quality chocolate and it really surprised
me. People think of Dairy Milk or Galaxy as "luxury" but if they tried
really good quality chocolate they would be so surprised!

I certainly don't think of Cadbury as luxury, though for me, it is the best for fruit and nut (something to do with it's sourness I think).

I dont think of them as luxury either but I'm sure I read somewhere
that "Dairy milk falls into the sheer indulgence category for
consumers". People really need to refine their palletes!

'Your happiness loves Cadbury'

Oh yes?

Give me Galaxy or Nestle chocolate before them.

Swiss Delice is the best tasting chocolate on the market, IMHO.

Not sure I have tasted a bar but I have had Milka Teacakes and they were yum. This is on my must try list!

Yup, I love Milka AngeLofDarKnesS. I try to eat the big bars and always end up feeling sick though, so I don't have good connotations of it! Great stuff though....

Anyone here like Lindt? That's another one of my fave big-bar attempts.

Can anyone here actually finish a 'big' bar on their own? I try but I don't feel good afterwards!

Yes I love Lindt but only in limited amounts!  Is that right you're in Oz?  I don't like your Dove chocolate!

Yup! In the UK at the moment though G/C.

As for the Dove - me neither! I have to say, the chocolate seems to taste a wee bit better in the UK. Even Cadbury, it's creamier somehow.

HATED the chocolate in America (no offence intended to any Americans)! Too much marshmellow and peanut-butter, and the chocolate seemed pretty low quality.

I think it's been discussed on here before that apparently the ingredients are different for Cadburys in Australia - something to do with stopping it melting I believe.  I love Australian white chocolate but I couldn't find anything else there I liked.  And if you hate Crunchie - it's better than Violet Crumble isn't it?  Oh I forgot Cherry Ripes though - they're OK!  Haven't been to America so can't comment.

I've never actually tried Violet Crumble! No intention too either, it looks vile!

Have you heard of 'kisses' over here? It's not the Hershies one, I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. I've been searching for them everywhere. 'Irish cream kiss' - gorgeous!

Do you do the 'hot drink' trick with Tim Tams here? Or is it just a weird Ozzie thing?!
