Celebrations does a Quality Street

Remember last year when Quality Street tins were full of mini Yorkie bars? It seems Celebrations have pulled a similar stunt:

Chocolate truffle kerfuffle

SWEETS giant Masterfoods was in deep TRUFFLE last night — for cramming selection boxes full of customers’ least favourite chocolates.

Truffle fans accused the Celebrations maker of overloading tins with Milky Ways and Mars Bars and leaving out their favourites.

And a snap Sun probe backed their claims.

We examined four boxes and found they contained three times as many
Mars Bars as Galaxy truffles. There were also twice as many Milky Ways
and Snickers.

A bumper tin had only seven truffles among more than 100 chocolates.

Chocoholic Rob Dex, 32, of Clapham, South West London, said: “The truffle is top of the chocs. This is Scrooge tactics.”

Last night Masterfoods said: “The mix is made up of different
quantities of various brands. Research shows that’s what people
prefer.”

At least Milky Ways, Mars Bars and Snickers are supposed to be in Celebrations, unlike Mini Yorkies in Quality Street. I would have thought these were the most popular bars in the selection anyway - I bet there would have been more complaints if there were more Galaxy Truffles than Mars Bars! I am more upset that they don't include Topics anymore

That said, one of the girls at work brought in a big tin of Celebrations the other day and I noticed there were loads of Milky Ways.
