I have a hot water bottle. There's just nothing like being warm and snug with your holly wally bolly.

I love my electric blanket. Talking of appliances lasting a long time, that is at least twenty years old and still going strong.

Do you unplug your electric blanket before getting into bed? I've never had one.

I'd be scared of getting electrocuted or something. When I was young I heard that someones electric blanket caught fire so it's put me off for life.

I like to get into a cold bed even in winter... but I am sitting here with the heating on and a hot water bottle on my lap and it is nearly lunch time!!

I have always had an electric blanket too Smurfy. They are great and do last a long time, except I had a new one recently since a spring from my matress went straight though the old one, eek! My new blanket is one of those extra fleecy ones you can leave switched on (on low, of course) all night

My cousin had one that caught on fire but that was about 30 years back - I think these days they're much safer. I leave mine on low all night.

You are still supposed to get the things serviced though.  I wouldn't like to use one that was 20 years old.

It's lasted more than twice as long as the one I bought from Argos to take to uni.
